Volkswagen I.D. VIZZION
The all-electric and autonomous Volkswagen I.D. VIZZION concept will have its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show.
The new I.D. VIZZION premium class saloon concept – which has no steering wheel or visible controls – is the fourth member of the Volkswagen I.D. family. The concept car drives, steers and navigates autonomously in traffic.
The top speed of the 225 kW Volkswagen I.D. VIZZION is 111mph, and the car has a driving range of up to 413 miles. Two electric motors drive all four wheels.
By 2025, Volkswagen plans to introduce more than 20 electric vehicle models. Starting in 2020, the I.D. will launch as an electric car in the compact class; this will be followed by a new electric SUV – the I.D. CROZZ – and the I.D. BUZZ, a spacious saloon.
The Volkswagen I.D. CROZZ zero emission SUV concept vehicle has an electric 4MOTION all-wheel drive system with one electric motor at the front axle and one at the rear, and torque distribution is controlled via an ‘electric propshaft’. The driving range of the SUV that outputs 225 kW (system power) and boasts a top speed of 112 mph is around 300 miles (NEDC) on one battery charge. The high-performance battery can be charged to 80% of its energy capacity in 30 minutes using a fast-charging system.
Volkswagen has lso confirmed that it will manufacture an electric Microbus, based on the design of the I.D. BUZZ concept car. The Volkswagen I.D. BUZZ electric MPV concept is a zero emission, all-wheel drive, electric MPV with 8 seats and a 370 mile range. The zero emission all-wheel drive system with output power of 275 kW / 374 PS (electric motors front and rear each delivering 150 kW) helps the I.D. BUZZ to accelerate from 0-62mph in 5 seconds, with a top speed restricted to 100mph.
The I.D. BUZZ will be on sale in 2022, after the compact four-door electric Volkswagen I.D. As well as a minibus version, Volkswagen will also be offering an I.D. BUZZ Cargo variant for zero-emission delivery operations.
